AKA the Nautical Look
Chanel No 5 isn’t the only reason I’m a fan of Coco. A true visionary, Coco Chanel introduced this design to the fashion world in her 1917 nautical collection. For nearly a century, women have rocked these stripes on hats, shoes and everything in between.
It’s a classic look that blends simplicity with sophistication. The “graphic sensibility” of the stripes inspired Coco and she appreciated their minimalism. She paired the Breton shirt long flared trousers. This was a daring shift from the Belle Époque fashion at the time.
How do you like to rock Breton stripes?
