Who died and made you king of anything?

Today this song popped up on Pandora and I started belting the lyrics out when I suddenly found myself in the middle of an interesting process. As I sung the lyrics I had the answer to her questions. I love this song, so I continued to belt, but the answer kept coming – a little louder than my attempts to sing.

1 Thessalonians 5:10, “He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.”

We know that He is Jesus and He is known as the King of Kings.

2 Timothy 2:12, “if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us.”

Endure the race that you have started with Him and you will reign with Him.

Revelation 5:10, “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”

We will reign on earth, that’s a promise. But even before that happens He refers to us today as His royal priesthood in 1 Peter 2:9. God doesn’t go back on His word. He keeps His promises and is faithful until the end… well, for eternity.

I love you Sara Bareilles, but you can’t hold my crown. Oh, and I get it. You aren’t too fond of the the guy who provoked this song.

One response to King of Anything?

    Thank you for the Word!!!
