Miracle Maker

This is a true story that happened via text after an encounter inside The Playboy Mansion’s Annual Kandyland party last year. I’ve been on the list to attend these parties for years now. But I didn’t start attending until I understood the purpose in it last year. I have a ministry with little silver keys. Each key has a word on it. And each time I visit the mansion I bring keys with me. Once I’m inside I wait for God to highlight people to me and then I give them the key I sense is for them. This is the story of a miracle.

The Girl – So, what’s the deal with the miracle key?

Me –  The miracle key is for you  :). Is there something you have been praying for or believing for?

The Girl – Of course… don’t we all :)?

Me –  Well, that key is in reference to whatever that is in your life  :). God wants to bless you. I can keep it in prayer for you.

The Girl – Thanks  :).

Me –  Also, remember that life itself is a miracle!!!

The Girl – So true.

The Girl – Hey it turned out you were right. I really need you to keep me in your prayer.

Me –  Awwww what would you like me to pray for specifically?

The Girl – Hey girl, I am sorry to keep bothering you but you said that key would bring a miracle and I really need one. My best friend is waiting to get lab results on Monday. Please pray for him to be healthy.

Me – Psalm 107:19-21 – Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.

The Girl – I really want him to be okay.

Me – I pray for mercy and healing for your friend. Let me know if you’d like me to type the prayer out for you also.

The Girl – Hun can I ask you for a favor? If I give you his number will you send these to him? He really needs to hear this from someone else besides me. Sorry I bugged ya on your Friday night.

Me – Definitely 🙂 and you aren’t bugging me, it’s what I do <3. I pray for people.

The Girl – Thank you. He really needs to believe right now. I know it’s hard when put in a situation like this to believe so thank you for doing that for him  :).

So I began to text the friend…

Me – Hi, my name is Lezlie and I’m a friend of your friend. I pray for people and wanted to send you some encouragement :).

Me – Psalm 30:2, “O LORD my God, I called to you for help and you healed me.”

Me – Psalm 103:3-5, “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Me –  God bless you :).

The Guy – Thank you Lezlie… I really appreciate it. You couldn’t have come into my friend’s life and obviously mine at a better time.

Me – You’re welcome :). I will keep you in my prayers. Let me know if you want a prayer appointment too!

The Guy –  Thanks again!

The Girl – Hey girl, I am still a little overwhelmed with the whole meeting you at Kandyland, the key, and all, but I just wanted to thank you for your prayers and let you know that my friend’s second result came in today. Unlike the first set they all came back negative. Nothing but a miracle can explain it! Thank you for praying  :).

Me – Beautiful , it was the work of Jesus. Xoxoxoxoxo

The Girl –  🙂

The Following Tuesday

The Guy – Hey Lezlie, I’m sure my friend told you already but your prayers played a big part in my last couple of weeks… thanks again  :).

Me – You’re welcome  :).

Me – If you don’t mind sharing, I’d love to hear more of the story. God bless you.

The Guy – I had tested positive for HIV. The specialist said about 10% of the people that test positive are actually negative. After some additional testing (the results we were waiting on while praying) she confirmed that I’m actually false positive.

Me – I have no idea what your life has been like, but this is God pursuing you. He loves you and has great plans for your life <3.

The Guy – I know  :).

Me – Good :).

Isn’t God so good? To top it all off I ran into the same girl this weekend at this year’s Gatsby themed Kandyland party. It took Mary Grace and me 3 HOURS to get inside this party (which never happens). Needless to say we, well I, was really annoyed. So I began to pray because I knew that it was God’s timing. Well, as soon as we entered the gate who crosses my path? “The girl”, she’s so sweet. I was so excited to see her and the feeling seemed mutual. She gave me an update from her perspective of the story and said that her friend (“the guy”) keeps the miracle key in a frame on his wall now.

This is one of a few bonafide miracles I’ve had the great honor of witnessing. Whenever God releases a miracle it’s never about being magical but it’s to reveal His love for that person. God is love and He’s alive and is still the great miracle worker. I hold on to “these things and greater”, and as Mary Grace and I danced on water (literally a pool covered with a sturdy board) at this weekend’s Kandyland we were encouraged to hold on tightly to our faith.

Do you believe in miracles?

love lezlie

    This is awesome!!! 🙂

What a blessing to read and witness through your blog. You are truly spreading God’s love and light to all who encounter you. Some will run away while others gravitate towards your light. All that is dark will see the light and God works through you to be a beacon for those afraid of the light. Your charm, beauty and warm presence are all tools that are used for the good of all. Love you! 😉
