From My Mama

August 27, 2013 — 2 Comments

Today is my mom’s birthday and there is so much that I love about her. She’s truly dynamic. Here are a few of my favorite things about her as a person.

  • She’s hilarious.
  • She has amazing style.
  • She’s bold & beautiful.
  • She’s an endless source of brilliant ideas.
  • She intentionally gave me a great father, something she didn’t have.

I’ve inherited so much from my mother Julie for which I am eternally grateful. And now that I’m older we are learning how to be friends which is something that I never imagined would happen. When you’re a kid you just see your parents as parents, somehow they aren’t human. But I started to see my mom as a woman, a person, and that helped me so much in understanding her. I’ve had so many adventures in my life but I know that nothing compares to raising a new life. I believe that our parents do the best that they can and one day I will do my best.

Happy birthday mama mia :).

So sweet and thoughtful of you Lezlie 🙂

Thanks for sharing your amazing story about your Mom. My mother passed in 2003. I miss her very much. I was in the U.S. Marine Corps for 12 years. While single I sent money home to my Mom for 8 of the 12 years. After I got married I informed her I would no longer be able to send her money each money but only when shed needed. Many months after Wilma and I had been marredi I receive a money order in the mail. My Mom had sent it. She said “I was saving this for your family”. She was returning to me what I had given her for 8 years. I will always love my Mommy. PS: How did she know I would need it…
