We’re On A Boat!

Have you ever been on a boat before? Once I attended a wedding on a yacht, that was lovely. I’ve never been on a cruise before. Remember when I wrote about my biggest fear? Well, I took another step in facing it (the water) in the waters of the magnificent Na Pali Coast. The opportunity kind of found us because we were standing outside of The Kalaheo Cafe after devouring a perfect breakfast when a woman walked up to me and asked where we were visiting from (I guess she could tell I was a tourist because I was taking photos of Kofi’s yellow kicks). She suggested we see the Na Pali Coast on Captain Andy’s Sailing Adventures. So we took her advice.

Despite the fact that 3 out of 4 of us got so sick we had to down 2 glasses of Chardonnay within 15 minutes, we loved it. I have never been so close to uncharted territory or so far into the ocean. Clarence and Ericka HIGHLY suggested that I tried snorkeling so I could at least say that I did it. I DID IT! But I think the fact that I was in the middle of the ocean and had a really tight piece of equipment stuck to my face made me anxious, so it was hard to enjoy the experience. By the way, we had to down the Chardonnay because when you are on the water it messes with your equilibrium and so does alcohol. So it basically balances you back out.

On the ride back to the city we made new friends with a couple from New York and The Netherlands.
