Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the Lord, who makes you holy. – Leviticus 20:7-8
I recently shared with you a dream that I had in Hawaii that really spoke to me. After that dream I had two other dreams in Hawaii that had pretty clear instructions on what this season was about for me. It is about consecration. The verse above was the verse of the day on my Bible app on Sunday Nov. 3rd. So I knew that I was supposed to start on Monday, Nov. 4th. But what is a consecrated life exactly? The definition I found in the dictionary is a solemn commitment of your life or your time to some cherished purpose (to a service or a goal); “his consecration to study”. And I found another definition on a Bible site that says, “In the Bible the word consecration means “the separation of oneself from things that are unclean, especially anything that would contaminate one’s relationship with a perfect God.” Consecration also carries the connotation of sanctification, holiness, or purity.
For my life this means to filter what I take in through my eyes, ears and mouth and focus on praying and meditating before God. So yesterday was my first day. I got up and made breakfast, worked out and then went to PIHOP to pray and worship. And guess what I discovered? PIHOP had named yesterday “Consecration Day” and I didn’t even know it.
If you have a prayer request please let me know and I will pray for you.
