Clarence and I just celebrated the second part of our honeymoon in the fabulous city of Beijing. It was my first time visiting the East and I must admit it stole a piece of my heart. I think I have always favored the West, not just because I’m American but also because I have an English grandmother. So I naturally had a fascination with learning all that I could about Europe. The funny thing is that when I told a few people that we were celebrating in Beijing many of them made funny faces and asked, “why?” Well, my response was, “why not?” It turned out to be one of the greatest adventures of my life and I’m so happy we did it.
I remember praying one morning to find the perfect honeymoon package because I was so ready for it. I’d say within 2 hours I got an email from Travelzoo that had an 8 day roundtrip deal from LA to Beijing that included airfare, hotel, daily breakfast, transportation to and from the airport, admission to several must-see landmarks and taxes included for $888. It was through a company called China Spree and they are as legit as it gets friends. It wasn’t too good to be true, it was actually THAT good.
I look forward to sharing with you our many Chinese adventures over the next couple of weeks.
