When I first moved to Pasadena I took supernatural ministry courses through the House Of Prayer. During this time I kept a prophetic journal to record all of the dreams and experiences I was having. They were all so incredible and I didn’t want to forget them. Towards the end of it all, right before graduation, I had an encounter with an angel. You see, I’d accidentally left my journal at PIHOP before I went on a week long trip to Miami for my sister-in-law’s wedding. I was so stressed that I’d left it because it contained some of my greatest revelations from God and was personal to me. But God told me not to worry and that it would be there when I returned. As soon as I got off the plane I drove to PIHOP and it was there waiting for me as He promised. I exited through the back door and in perfect synchronicity a man appeared. He initiated a conversation with me as we walked to to my car.
His skin was chocolate brown and it’s hard to say how old he was. He could have been early 40s but he could have been late 60s in appearance. I knew his gaze, he had fiery eyes. He said his name was Stanley. He started to speak to me about the supernatural and experiencing heaven on earth. He spoke about 3rd heaven being unspeakable and how I can go. I knew this sounded familiar. So when I got home I searched scripture about 3rd heaven and I came across this passage.
I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows. And I know that this man was caught up into paradise—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows—and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter. – 2 Corinthians 12:2-4
He told me that everyday is Thanksgiving and to be thankful for the good and the bad because ultimately it’s all for our good. And then as we stood outside of the House Of Prayer, He looked up at the roof of the building and then back to me and said, “You have to remember that you, your body, is the true temple of God.” At the time I really needed to hear this message because I was so focused at what was happening within those 4 walls that I started to neglect taking care of myself. It was my own fault, I had to face my own extremities. I thought of the following scriptures from 1 Corinthians and understood this was a divine moment.
If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple. – 1 Corinthians 3:17
And this one too.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
The last thing he told me before we parted ways was to look into the people of Gilead from the book of Judges. I’m still not sure why he said this to me, but I will look into it one day. What do you think of the things Stanley shared?
